Another great experience here. The waitress remembered us even though the last time we were here was in April. She was gracious and managed to keep 4 young kids happy! The food was great, had the chicken parm again with angel hair, my mom has the stuffed banana pepper appetizer and raved about it. Even my picky sister loved it. Everyone left happy and full!

We were looking for a good meal on our arrival night and we were not disappointed by Finocchio's. We'd never been there but read the good reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor and decided to give it a shot. The service was fantastic and the food was very, very good. I had the Lasagna and my wife has the stuffed shells with meatballs. The lasagna was fantastic and meatballs were amazing. Before the food even arrived we were served an amazing salad with the best homemade Creamy Italian dressing I've ever had. There was also fresh baked bread that comes from a bakery in New Jersey. The meal was authentic, reasonably priced and well done. The only downside is the location. The restaurant is in a strip mall which takes away from the ambiance (not to mention the fact that we'd have never seen the sign if we hadn't been looking for it). Overall a very strong 4-star review.

This is an excellent hideaway! Don't let the exerior (strip mall) fool you, the food and the atmosphere are top notch. Our table had an appetizer and three entrees and we couldn't stop exclaiming over the food. I compared the meal to one I had in Little Italy, NYC. Definitely better than any Italian chain restaurant I've ever been to!

This place is awesome. I rarely give five stars unless I am completely blown away. We stopped in knowing nothing about it except it looked kind of like a pizza joint in a strip mall. This was a pitstop before I even knew much about yelp!! LOL. What a shock at the lovely atmosphere and fantastic service. We were keeping our fingers crossed that the food would match our initial impression and it exceeded our expectations. This has become our favorite Italian restaurant!! We've been here several times and never disappointed in any meal. The veal chop is my absolute favorite in the world. The only hesitation I might add is that the prices are a little higher than average but remember you get what you pay for and this food is worth every penny! Update: had dinner here for the fifth time last night and lower the rating to four-star which is still good. We were the first dinner guests to arrive and were told there is only one veal chop left. We also had a waitress walk by smiling and I complemented her top. She then came over and went on and on for five minutes about where the top came from, her mother gave it to her, etc. etc. That was fine, however, she came back as our food was being served and proceeded to show us pictures of her family, her mother, etc. While our food was getting cold. She truly acted like she was on drugs. A few minutes later we heard our waitress telling the guests at the next table about the specials that we were never told about. As far as the food goes, we had stuffed banana peppers which were awesome. We also shared a crabmeat stuffed Portabella mushroom which was lukewarm and not that great. I told the waitress about the temperature and she just shrugged her shoulders. I did manage to snag the one veal chop in the restaurant and it was delicious. I thought it was odd that every time we go there they tell us that this veal chop is their signature dish but as their first customers of the evening they had only one. Their bar was somewhat disappointing as they had no IPA beers for my husband and didn't have Belvedere vodka or a few others I asked for. also, I mentioned at least four times that it was my husband's birthday and there was no recognition, not even a happy birthday wish or a free cupcake. Anyway, no longer five stars in my book but still good food but somewhat pricey. The service this time was unimpressive. One thing that seriously removed the fifth star for me is that I don't like their pasta at all. It has been over cooked and mushy - I could do better with a box of spaghetti at home.

Great Italian Food.. Service was wonderful. Waitress could not have been more friendly. Another Great Restaurant that we also visit when visiting Surfside Beach/Myrtle Beach. Price very reasonable. They have great specials on Drinks...

My husband ordered the chicken parm and he liked it. Don't order the Spaghetti alla Carbonara. The pasta was way overdone and I thought it was frozen and then cooked. Not my favorite Italian restaurant.

Last night, the staff, spouses and owners of the Meineke Car Care Center in Murrells Inlet had a fabulous dinner party at Finocchio's. The food was delicious! John, the owner and chef, really outdid himself. Donna and Elizabeth treated us like royalty, catering to our every need. I highly recommend Finocchio's for everyday dining and any special occasion. Thank you all for making our event a success!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
